My name is Mirit Harel Shapit and I am a pastry chef by profession.
Graduated from Hadassah College majoring in baking and cooking and from Estella High School for Confectionery.
I opened my first restaurant (in the German colony in Jerusalem) at the age of 24 as a mother of my first child,
After about ten years of activity, about three restaurants and two more children. I made the decision to close the business for the sake of raising my children.

Since then I enjoy combining my two loves - teaching and cooking.
Today I teach cooking from the age of 3 to 99 - I teach high school matriculation majors in cooking, run cooking classes in kindergartens as well as cooking classes for children and youth.
In addition, I created and conduct several workshops for families and adults
For happy events, introductions and consolidation.
Among the workshops - pasta, Jerusalem workshop, hamburger workshop and more.
In 2020 as part of the corona crisis and when I was with my little house stuck at home like everyone else I developed the method for learning letters through the world of cooking.
The activity through the tabs allows natural and optimal learning
which is done happily from the child's active activity.
The activity teaches through the child's five senses - sight, hearing, smell, touch and of course taste
and deepens fine motor skills
The child's experience of independence and success is translated into knowledge acquired naturally by dealing with food
and intensifies the sense of maturity and ability and brings immediate achievements.

I believe that there is no age for the kitchen, the daily engagement with food, the availability of the raw materials, the flavors and the immediate final product provide exclusive possibilities for the kitchen.
So don't be afraid and let the kids cook.
